Each person depicted in this series of portraits is a purposely chosen personality that I find intriguing. Many are creatively divergent from the mainstream. I practice in a very deliberate painterly way in depicting each of these people in a disheveled manner frequently with my fingers. I use watercolor in a non-traditional style that is heavy and plentiful.
In between my portraits I take time to be more playful and less deliberate in my work. I take more risks and use as much color as humanly possible. I have a strong consistent theme of what it is to be female.
